When the window opens that includes the contents of the CD, double click on "TextBridge Pro Installer" icon.Insert the TextBridge Pro 8.0CD in the CD-ROM drive.If you have TextBridge Pro 8.0 and the (Works Like) Apple Scan is not in the Chooser, you will want to do the following: Select ‘(Works Like) Apple Scan’, then ‘Apple Compatible’.If not, review the documentation provided by UMAX with the VistaScan driver for more complete installation instructions for your configuration. After the install verify that the Scanner file is now in the System/Extensions folder.The VistaScan driver should be version 2.25 or better, if not download it from UMAX’ internet site at Do a Custom install of the UMAX VistaScan driver provided by UMAX.Remove the AVISION DRVR driver from the Extensions Folder, there is a known conflict with this scanner driver.Go to the system/preferences folder, trash the TextBridge Pro Preferences.Go to the system folder, trash the scanner settings file.The older UMAX scanners will continue to use the UMAX Scan extension.
NOTE: Other new scanners that UMAX releases will more than likely use this same extension. UMAX provides a "Scanner file" that enables the following list of scanners look like Apple Compatible scanners and use the (Works Like) Apple Scan Chooser extension. UMAX does not provide a TWAIN driver and there appears to be no way to interface these scanners to TextBridge. Some of the UMAX Vista scanners are not listed as supported scanners in the TextBridge for Macintosh release notes.
